The listing, $1 Hungarian Fund Note - Feb. 1852 ORIGINAL! has ended.
Hungarian Fund Note issued in Feb. 1852 for One Dollar.
These were issued in NY for the Hungarian people living in NY at the time. Payable in London or New York. Printing on one side only. This is an original bill (not a replica) with a handwritten ink serial number of 15304.
It is currently mounted on a matting sheet and measures 8" wide x 4.5" high. There is a small tear to the bill on the upper left corner, but otherwise it is in great condition. This is a scan of the actual bill, so see the picture for exact condition.
This came from an estate purchase of the very famous Chef Louis Szathmary who was a hungarian immigrant. He had it matted and framed. Wonder if this is the first dollar he ever made? LOL!
