ANTIQUE AUXILARY VFW LAPEL PIN - ICON OF AMERICANA ORIGINAL PIN FROM WWI - est.1914-1918?

founded in 1914, the members of the auxiliary to the VFW (veterans of foreign wars) have served the veterans of this country and our communities in honor of the sacrifices and commitment of every man and woman who has served in uniform. my grandmother as a young woman was a nurse administering to our wounded soldiers. her D.O.B., along with the hallmark seen here, puts this pin in a class by itself. @ ~1/2" x 1/2" and in pristine antique condition.

***PLEASE NOTE: this pin bears a very unique hallmark in relation to any of the other auxiliary VFW pins quite commonly available today. rather than the hallmark of W & H Co.(Whitehead Hoag), a small s inside of a larger C, or the small O and J inside a banner across a larger L - this pin bears an incredibly tiny scripted or old english lowercase e wearing a crown. see third pic which is magnified many many times!!! i belleve this pin is an original from WWI - try though as i may, i have been unable to find a clear history of the pin iconography through its history, nor a definitive match on the hallmark in order to establish a more clear provenance.
