VINTAGE LUCKY (TRUNK UP) ELEPHANT PIN COVERED IN CHARMING TEXTURAL DETAIL

every speck of this substantial ucky elephant brooch is rendered in rich detail. the majority of the background surface bears a precise and well-crafted basket weave texture, additional textures include granulation, and even a chainmaille-like texture on the elephant's saddle blanket.

although this pin is void of any markings on the back, it initially presented with all the hallmarks of some light silver tarnish, which was gently and easily removed with a silver polishing cloth. it is, at the very least, sterling silver-plated.

pin measures ~2.5" x 2" and boasts an expertly installed high-end flag-pin type revolver clasp making it a snap to get the pin secured for wear. although i have been unable to find other references to an elephant pin of this caliber, i do know from whom it came and as such, i estimate this pin to be from the 1950's.
