iPhone 3GS, 8GB, Clean ESN with AT&T, or possibly unlocked. Will come with a free H20 sim card!!! Does have a sim tray/slot. Needs Activated if you desire to use it as a phone. It's currently unusable until you get it activated. When we upgraded devices, from iPods to this,I put in a full restore through iTunes and I was prompted to activate. I never intended to use it as a phone, which is why i originally assumed this was Verizon, because my friend is currently with VZ. We used it as an iPod touch for games and such...
The screen was cracked prior to my getting it & was replaced. There's a very small chip in the corner of the glass that is barely noticeable. Screen and digitizer work perfectly.
Not sure what iOS it's running; guessing 5.1.1 or near...

Well they actually started giving problems after a software upgrade. It struggles to get activated as phone due to latest update. PLEASE DO NOT just think that is the problem it might be several other, also just resetting it and activate using iTunes and there you go! It is however great as using it as a iPod as well since those go for a few $100 bucks.

I've given away other 3GS with worse issues for around the same and a little bit more. Lets see what happens. If it doesn't go, I always lower the starting bid on a relist.

I currently have Verizon, but not with a smart phone. I never had service on this phone. We use iPhones like iPods in my house. Can't afford the smart bill!

absolutely. what I have is Virgin Mobile. $35 a month unlimited text and data... 300 talk minutes. they have smartphone at a...high price.. but its worth not being in a contract. If you go to best Buy they will help with everything. (pay the smartphone over time even) they even have a one time fee protection plan (Geek Squad) and it cover drop, spill, break. I have the LG Optimus F3 and paid 89.99( my protection was $7.99 for a year ) so consider that for a smartphone if you're interested. they run off of Sprints LTE network. you can check coverage through their site. you might like it if you pay the higher price for their better phones. However, my comment was for Tracy818. I might give them some answers to their questions. But I don't mind sharing this info too

I got mine around Black Friday.. the regular price is 149.99 and the next one up is the Galaxy S 3 for 349.99 they have iphones too. even a discounted monthly bill for iPhone users if you do auto pay. (iPhone 4 for 199, but that iPhone is getting old with the 5S)

If you prefer the Verizon network.. check out PagePlus. don't know much about it. But Straight Talk is 45 a month unlimited everything. get an AT&T iPhone and buy the At&t Sim from straight Talk and it'll work fine... usually ..haha

if you take out the Sim that's in it already, you can activate it through WiFi only

Tried and it says:
Your iPhone could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable. Try connecting your iPhone to iTunes to activate it, or try again in a couple if minutes.

Yes, it will say this if the SIM inserted is inactive. Which, in the corner of the screen, it says "No Service", means exactly that. If there wasn't a SIM present in the device, it would say "No SIM". This may not apply to Verizon and/or Sprint iPhones, however.
