This Auction is for and old Mahjong book and 2 Mahjong pieces . I've seen these pieces made into earrings, necklaces ,bracelets,and key chains.But I'll let you decide. I've had these for over 40 years,or more, and I never did learn how to play Mahjong, so I figure it's someone else's turn! I don't know what the pieces are made from, but many older sets, were bone, ivory ,and bakelite.Mahjong is a traditional Chinese game, some say was invented by Confucious- the great Chinese scholar over 500 BC ago. It was brought to the USA in 1920, and 12,000 books were sold by Abercrombie and Fitch. There are 144 pieces in a full Mahjong set.The pieces are called "Tiles" and are black ,red and green. The theory that Confucious founded this game,is because the word means "Sparrow" and he loved birds!
