The listing, Seabiscuit, An American Legend, a paperback by Laura Hillenbrand (Like New!) has ended.

Seabiscuit, An American Legend, a paperback by Laura Hillenbrand. Gosh, this is a wonderful, Like New, copy of this wonderful book about that legendary racehorse, Seabiscuit! This is the non-fiction book that was made into a wonderful major motion picture starring Tobey Maguire. All I can see is a very light, almost invisible, crease on the front cover, 2 very small scrapes to the spine back edge, and some light scratch indentations on the cover that you can’t see unless you move the book back and forth in the light. Some lucky (or well-skilled!) bidder will enjoy this wonderful book, so here it is for y'all.

Seabiscuit, An American Legend. Seabiscuit was one of the most electrifying and popular attractions in sports history and the single biggest news maker in the world in 1938! But his success was a surprise to the racing establishment, which had written off the crooked-legged racehorse with the sad tail. Three men changed Seabiscuit’s fortunes:

Charles Howard was a onetime bicycle repairman who introduced the automobile to the western United States and became an overnight millionaire. When he needed a trainer for his new racehorses, he hired Tom Smith, a mysterious mustang breaker from the Colorado plains. Smith urged Howard to buy Seabiscuit for a bargain-basement price, then hired as his jockey Red Pollard, a failed boxer who was blind in one eye, half-crippled, & prone to quoting from Ralph Waldo Emerson. Over 4 years, these unlikely partners survived a phenomenal run of bad fortune, conspiracy, and severe injury to transform Seabiscuit into an American sports icon. ISBN 0345465083, 399 pages.
