1950s Wm. A. Rogers Oneida "Vanessa" Silver-plated Spoon Ring (Size 5) This Wm. A. Rogers signed ring has one of William A. Roger's classic Sterling Silver-plated silverware patterns - the Vanessa design - which features tiny roses and delicate scrolls. The inside of the ring is signed Wm. A. Rogers, Oneida LTD. Vintage aged look. A little bit of history: "Spoon rings originated in 17th century England and were originally used as wedding rings. Servants could not afford to have wedding rings made of precious metals so they would steal the silverware from the manor houses and have them turned into wedding rings."

Hello ! I had one when I was younger too! (The 70's! Groovy, huh? :) I wore it all the time. I searched and searched for an authentic one and finally found it, then found I never wore it - so here it is, for someone who will wear it ! :)

pretty / watching ~ hmmm never heard of using vinegar - will have to give that a try - I clean all my silver with toothpaste

I've actually used toothpaste too. It works. I think the vinegar cleans it better and much faster though. I don't really like the chemical cleaner stuff, so I try to use as much "NON" chemical stuff in my home as possible - I even clean my windows, mirror's, and glass on picture's with vinegar. It can even be used to clean facet handles/knobs, counter tops, coffee pots - I'm a vinegar aholic ! lol.

Thank you. Fanned you back. Just a little fyi - I should have cleaned it better before taking the picture's. I used vinegar and a toothbrush. Works great.
