Questions & Comments
Some advice, because your new. People won't bid much on a nice coin like this for two reasons. First, you have never sold anything on Listia before, and people seem to hold that against new people. The other reason, you didn't offer free shipping. I personally don't mind paying for shipping, especially if it is something nice, like this. Others seem to dislike paying for shipping. Something else I noticed, the pictures have a bright glare in them from either the light or the flash reflecting off the coin. It kinda makes it difficult to gauge the quality of the coin.
Hello, Nice Auction ~ I was reading the comments from you and the other Listians. I have been here for a bit and can tell you that it seems discouraging at first however it is a "Fun" site with alot of Great People. You will have some auctions that will do Wonderful and others that don't meet your expectations. "Win Some Lose Some" Syndrome. Might I add other suggestions Verify your account - go to Account Settings > Verify Account this will add more confidence to bidders Add more details of the coin - the Condition > Mint Mark any other information that might be useful coin collectors here seem to Know their stuff and are "Brutal" when it comes to those types of items If you can take more pics and post them maybe some close-ups Package the coin how you plan to ship it > take to P.O. and get estimate of shipping cost > put that in the title most of the Listians here scroll thru the "Free Shipping" items First Finally "Hang In There" there is still days on this auction there "WILL" be lookers and if they are interested will continue to come back and check it out to see how it is doing - you will find that there are "Last Minute" bids, Listians don't care to "Tie-Up" their credits for a long length of time and some work on getting enough credits to bid It is "Tough" at first yes but all in all it is a "Worth-While Adventure" with A-Lot of Wonderful People and Many Many Many Wonderful Items Hang in There Girl !!! :) and Best of Luck to All your auctions!
Thank you....im not sure this is for me then....i have several nice coins that i was looking to sell but what for? this is becoming not worth it to me....and the reason i did not offer the free shipping is for that reason no one is really bidding anything worth my while...and why should i honestly give away all of my valuables for practically nothing and pay to ship ot as well? That is why i only did one coin to start....and whoever wins this coin will receive it because i am a legit honest person.....but after this uppsetting experience and disappointment as to how this turning out and what im losing is really not worth it to me and i will not be doing this anymore
It gets better. I was discouraged just like you and many others for that matter. You just have to make a name for yourself. Plus if you list your coins under collectables-coins they would do much better because more would see them.
Yes, a lot of us have had slow starts, like Pogo said, it will get better. It takes time is all. I would suggest finding coins that are still nice, but not as valuable, until you get about 15 sales under your belt. Then you receive the trusted sellers badge, and people will bid more on your items. Don't be discouraged, things WILL get better. I had a rough start, I all but gave away close to 200 dollars worth of quarters for about 50k creds and I had to ship them for free. Now though, I put something up, and people see it, they bid A LOT more now, I made a name for myself. Also, some more advice. I myself like to put items up and have them end on a Saturday or Sunday night, it gets prime time coverage, plus, people tend to be home around those times. Something else to think about, most items start slow, a lot of people will hold off from bidding till the last day. A lot of people are just scared of new people, let them get to know you, that will change. Also, another thing I should mention. When you bid on an item, your credits get frozen. In other words, if I bid on an item that has 4 days left, and I bid 3000 credits, those credits are frozen till someone outbids me, or the auction ends. It can be hard to bid on some items, just because of that, people don't want to tie up their creds for too long. Please stay, give Listia a chance, in the end, you won't regret it.
Hi! Don't be discouraged, most people bid within the last 4 hours; in the meantime, I would suggest getting verified if you haven't already. Welcome to Listia!!

Hi,
To help you get more bids and possibly more credits for your item, I've changed the category of this listing from Antiques to Collectibles > Coins. This will help bidders find your item, and will prevent it from getting flagged by users. Thanks for your cooperation and good luck!
F&W very nice coin! Don't give up Listia is very awesome! You can get some really nice stuff on here for awesome deals! Keep your head up I'm sure your auction will do just fine!!! :-)
all of the advice they gave you was worth a million dollars... the piece of advice I have is that you should list your coins as a 1972 Eisenhower dollar. by you saying Silver Dollar people would be confused and ask many questions. because unless it is a 72 s for my special mentor Proof Set it is most likely not silver just silver colored... that will make a huge difference in the amount of credits you get... just a bit more than twice... welcome to our community it is addictive and it is an incredibly fun and entertaining website I love it!
