✌✿ This is a 1973 Vintage Smiley Face Alarm Clock ✿✌

Writing on the back:

"ROBERT SHAW CONTROLS COMPANY LUX TIME DIVISION LEBANON TENN USA"

~ I picked this up at either an Estate Sale or Yard Sale as is... (I can't remember which - I go to so many ! :)

~ There is a winder missing from the back and some dings toward the bottom of the back side, in addition to some surface rust on the 2 bells. I tried to include picture's of all of this, so there would be no surprise's to the winner of this auction. (It didn't matter to me. I thought it was just so dang cute and wanted to just have it to sit around :)

~ Speaking of having it sit around - I put it up and forgot all about it until this morning when going through boxes of things I had stored in my extra closet :-/. Rather than having this cute, happy little thing sitting in a box, I thought someone else might actually enjoy it - (I wonder if it was smiley in that box? ) Ha!

~ The hands do move when I turned it to different times, and as I sit here (after winding it up), I hear tic toc.... tic toc... (is it ever going to stop! :) ~

~ I do not know, however, it if actually works. I don't know what the other winder (the one that is missing) is supposed to do.

I hope you all find this clock as amusing as I do.

P.S. The 4th picture I posted, the one where I laid it on it's face? It made me think Smiley is saying, "Help, I can't get up" ! LOL !

****UPDATE: This clock is keeping time! When I took the picture's I set it at about 10:25. It probably took me a hour or so to upload, crop, and post this auction. The clock is still ticking and now say's 12:34(ish).... hard to tell since it isn't digital. :)

lol. That's okay. After winding it yesterday, it kept time until it wound down. It was kind of cool to see that it was working for me too. I had never tried it before. I bought it just because I liked the way it looked. I don't know if the alarm works or not though. I was thinking too, that the one winder that is missing, one could maybe screw off the other one and use it for both ? I'm not going to try that though. I'm afraid I'd break it. Ha! Also, I've noticed on here (Listia) that people are selling keys - it looked like to me that in some of those keys was winder's. It would depend on the size as to whether it would fit the one winder that is missing.

whats missing is the alarm key for the bell.when the alarm goes off the little black thing at the top goes back and forth between the 2 bells and rings.

try looking in thrift stores for cheap wind ups.you'd probably stand a good chance of finding a clock with a key that fits.

Hey, that's a really good idea! Goodwill here in the town I live in is half off everything on the 1st Saturday of every month. Might be a really good chance of finding one that would fit there. If so, I'll include it with this clock.

OMG my daughter has loved smiley faces since she was little. She has a Christmas night shirt with a smiley in a santa hat and wears it every Christmas. She is now 28 and would absolutely love this clock. Watching!!!!
