My new camera takes an SD card so I do not need this anymore. As far as I know, it works.

About how many pictures does it hold?

i do not know. I think it depends on your camera and settings. i would suggest you compare it to the size of your current card ie it holds half as much as a 32 mb card and twice as much as an 8 mb card. i think it is old and small because i think you can get gb cards now.
