The white you see in the picture is actually just the protective vinyl sticker that's covering the back of the LCD screen to protect it from damage either during shipment or during the actually installation of the assembly. You don't want to touch the What's underneath the white vinyl because the oils from your figures could cause damage to the LCD screen.
