Description
The listing, 2 Gold Dollar Coins has ended.
2 Gold Dollar Coins in Clear Plastic Round cases. Both seem to be in excellent condition. There's some scratching and scuffing on the cases but the coins themselves seem to be just fine. I'm not sure of the issue dates on these but I am told that they're legal tender. Sorry to my coin collectors, I have even less info on these then I usually do but I'll do my best to try and answer questions.
Items will ship within 1 week of auction end. I will notify winners of ship date.
Well, I didn't want to put them on my scale because of the protective plastic that they're in. I have no way to tare that weight and I don't want to try and remove them and possibly damage them. A little digging online tells me that these coins are supposed to be identical in weight and composition to the standard Sacagewa Gold Dollar coin and should be about 8grams. Hope that helps.
Unfortunately, I can't edit it, I may ask Listia to remove it. As I've had to admit many times when I've listed coins, I'm not a collector and my knowledge is incredibly limited. I try my best to provide as much information as possible but it always seems that questions come up that I'm just not expecting and end up trying to scramble for the answer. I do appreciate you imparting your knowledge about this though, if I am able to remove and relist, it will be incredibly helpful.
Sorry, not meant to be negative about the listing.Just, I would never list Two coins as something there not. I would be blacklisted by Listia as well as any fans.Of course this all started because someone asked the weight............Regards,C
I'm not sure what you're accusing me of. To my knowledge these are listed accurately. I was .1g 'off' on the weight listing and purposely used to word "about" as I knew I was using online references and not weighing them myself. If your qualm is with my use of the word "Gold" then perhaps you should check the US Mint's website. These coins are according to http://www.usmint.gov/mint_programs/$1coin/ "The size, weight and metal composition of the Presidential $1 Coins are identical to that of the Sacagawea Golden Dollar..." and if I had "Sacagawea Golden Dollars" I would list them as such as that's the common name that they're recognized as. There technically is no more or less gold in these coins then in those but it is what they're known as. I don't see any problems in listing these coins in the same manner. If you take offense to it, I strongly invite you not to bid. If the only commentary you have to make at this point is negative or derogatory in nature, I strongly invite you to discontinue doing so. If you are incapable of doing so, I can ensure that the ability to do so is disabled for you. I made it very clear that I had little knowledge about coins. My in-laws keep giving them to us and we have no interest in them. I thought it'd be a nice thing to pass them along to someone who might appreciate it. I've yet to be as bombarded with snobbish collector syndrome as I have with this listing from you. Again, my only answer to you is this, if you are unsatisfied with my listing, do not bid. If you are unhappy with my answers, do not continue to engage me. Lastly, if you feel that strongly that I'm trying to defraud someone out of their credits with a false listing, you have the ability to 'flag' it and I can take that up with a moderator or with other Listia Staff. I've now given you my reasoning behind listing the coins the way I have, you know what my response is if that isn't good enough for you.
If you find a posting or message from me offensive, inappropriate, or disruptive, please feel free to ignore it.If you don't know how to ignore a posting, complain to me, and I will be only too happy to demonstrate...
Wow, has no one ever seen one of these before? Before I even clicked the auction tab I knew these were legal tender US coins in the denomination of $1.00.
Does anyone really think you were trying to pass these off as actual "GOLD" coins? No one with any sense would list such an item on Listia. And only someone with less sense would think they could get such an item for 500 credits.
a good thing to do is google your coin and find out all you can and even copy and paste all relavent info in the description, then i think you can avoid all the non sense
