Hey all just thought I'd add my 2 cents in here. I make gemstone jewelry as a business. You know gold,silver, precious stones. Know my stones. This is not a sapphire it is a earth grown ruby. Lab grown stones are considered synthetic and not as desirable or valuable as a real gemstone Star rubies are not common like star sapphires and six point stars are harder to find. Now sapphires, crystal or star can come in every color you can think of except true red. I've got most colors currently in stock including a beautiful violet star sapphire. Now you can get stars where the star doesn't float and they are real it just means the cut is not good or the chatoyance ( what makes the star) isn't as good. From the pictures this appears to be a very nice pendant. I hope this helps get the bids this piece deserves. Someone will be getting a very nice piece of jewelry. I would however put it on a better quality chain, just my personal preferrence. Good Luck

Very nice and you are entirely accurate about the star moving depending on how it catches the light and I have seen a golden looking one but my Daddy called that a Tigers Eye.

I have the green sapphire star gemstone gold ring with 2 diamonds. its rare.. I found out its worth over 300-700. I seen another one like it on line. They come in different colors. Your is worth alot too. not sure what. All this time I thought I had a rare opal. I did lots of research. Good Luck on your necklas. U should get a high bid! I wouldn't settle for a low one. This is a GENUINE KENYAN STAR RUBY. What you have is a lab created stone. This IS NOT A FAKE!! Blue is genuine green is created. If the star is fixed in one place its a fake. This star floats all over the surface of the stone.
