Went to Co-Op to purchase cotton seeds and found out that I can't buy them. Your land has to be allotted for cotton growth just like wheat. then when I did find seed, it was almost $200 an ounce. SO, my grandson and I went to a local Alabama cotton gin and collected us some cotton that was spilled onto ground from the trucks hauling cotton from the fields.
Fresh from the fields in October 2013!! We collected so many cotton bolls this year that this auction will be for 100 seeds!! HOWEVER, If you'll cover the $5.80 for a small flat rate box, I'll STUFF IT FULL!!!! I'd guess over 1000 seeds!!

--------Note------ I planted just one seed this past summer to make sure they will germinate. It grew to over a foot tall after 30 days. Photo added of that plant. I have never noticed before that they have flowers. Yellow, white, and pink!! Thank you for watching.

do you mean if we bid we get 10 just for bidding? or did you mean 100 for the free shipping bidder that wins. I never heard such hooey about you needing to be in allowed to grow something is that a real law on the books in ms? It's like something out of green acres. When I say hooey I am not doubting the issues you ran into but its bureacratic bullpucky thats for sure. How ingenius of you to gather the seeds that way. I would have just gone home bummed and never would have thought of another way to get around it. Now that's American!

I was really interested when you said you couldn't grow cotton unless your land was zoned for it. I guess they are trying to prevent the spread of boll weevils, so its illegal to "home-grow" cotton in cotton growing states and places affected by the boll weevil

It can be home grown but if your land isn't zoned for it, you can't sell it. I grew an acre this past fall and now have plenty to share!!
