The listing, Nice Stamp Set: Plant For More Beautiful has ended.
The 6-cent stamps intended to encourage continued participation in President and Mrs. Johnson's Natural Beauty Campaign were first placed on sale at Washington, DC, on January 16, 1969. Four different designs were printed on a pane of fifty stamps.
The Cities stamp shows a small triangle planted in pink and red azaleas and ivory tulips with the Capitol in the background. The Parks stamp, to the right, shows a field of daffodils on the Potomac River with the Washington Monument in the background. Appearing on the pane beneath the Cities stamp is the Highway stamp in which yellow poppies and blue lupine predominate. The Street stamp, to the right, shows crab apple trees in bloom.
