I have rare collections of furniture and tea sets that I actually use from the 1400's.If you are looking for true and healthy incense. perhaps you can tell us more. I have seen these go for around 240 on eBay. I have another unmarked set that I upec is prewar. However these are not marked made in Taiwan...
on the bottom of cups and the decanter should be a stamp of authenticity. This stamp is very unique. You can trace it to the area it was hand made and hand painted. It is so unique that it will also be able to tell you around about the year. It isn't Japanses if it is made in Taiwan:) Pending on the stamp is what it is truly worth. I have paid tens of thousands for my Kotobuki sets. But again, they are very rare.Either way, what you have is a beautiful work of art.I am honored to see it.
I have a set of peacocks and chrysanthemum with no mark. The top stamp looks like r . Below a pagoda with 2 lines on top...on either side of > upside down v...will get back to you with some closer pics...
I humbly apologize I tried twice to examine the photos. They just are not clear enough for me to get a clear look at the coloring and the strokes. The fact that it is porcelain makes me automatically think early 1900's or replica. Porcelain earlier in years very rare and made with a purple like clay that seeped through and gives off a beautiful hue. Most vases and sets are dark because of the nature of the dark clay rich in healing minerals in the region. That is the best I can do with out a better look and with out touching it.Still I stand by the fact that it is beautiful. I working and livable piece of art.:)
The lines are soft and feminine definitely old hishigara style. The artist is absolutely a woman. It isn't a family crest. I am guessing it is her name. The top symbol is Ka which means powerful and is given as a foretelling. The other symbol honestly has various meanings when paired with this and is pretty much left to interpretation.Given the historical background. I saying between 1920s and 1940's but again with out further research on this artist and touching it I cannot say forsure. I am looking in to it right now. Will let you know if I find anything out.:)
