Description

The listing, Dell Latitude E6400 Laptop, used. Laptop/computer/Wifi/Electronics has ended.

Up for auction is a used Dell Latitude E6400 Laptop, works and runs nicely.
- It does not have a Hard Drive cover (Hard drive is latched in really well and does not fall or dislodge), has some natural wear (See pictures, nothing at all major, some smudge and a small case nick, no actual damage), and does not come with a power cord (I need it for my secondary laptop, now primary) so you will have to acquire that elsewhere.

STATS:
Intel Core 2 Duo Processor @ 2.27ghz
3GB DDR2 RAM
160gb Hard Drive
Windows 7 Installed
CDRW/DVD rom drive
Built in WIFI
Just under a 15'' screen by my measurement.

Great for home or student use, beautiful black and silver, sleek design.

****PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU BID***

SHIPPING: Will ship to Canada and US only, no international. Do not ask for free shipping, I cannot afford to ship for free, asking won't achieve that goal. Shipping rates are set to cover PayPal shipping costs of item with provided tracking - will only ship with tracking, not a cheaper 'no tracking' method, will not risk fraud on either party. Will ship within 48 hours of shipping payment and address given.

Also let it be known, to protect myself and the high bidder: If for any reason a case is opened or there is claim of the item not working/damage, PROOF of damage -or -RETURN of the 'not working' item at your own cost is required for full refund. This is for the protection of both parties, and in accordance to Listia rules. Again, I say this because with higher value items comes higher chances of fraudulent behavior and I would rather be safe than sorry.

This Dell is as pictured and clearly shows it is working. It will be safely packaged when shipped, nice and tight.
Happy and safe bidding :)

Work I take it, more north you go it is naturally colder. Here in central we get chinooks from the south, so we catch some good breaks from the winter chill. still like an average of -20 in winters though.

Did this laptop originally come with Windows 7? Is there a Windows 7 COA on the bottom of the laptop? The COA is what some call the key or serial number so that Windows 7 can be reloaded. It's not legal to distribute a computer without a valid COA.

Also, whoever wins this (I'm going to try and bid too), do NOT buy that power adapter at Amazon. It does not have a ground on the power cord. I've seen many of these 2 prong power adapters literally melt. It's too dangerous to take a chance on killing the laptop when for just a few dollars more you can get a power adapter with a ground. This is a very nice business grade laptop. You can get the exact original power adapter, brand new, for $22.50. I know $10 sounds tempting but it's not worth it. http://tinyurl.com/qxx9yyf If you search Ebay for Dell PA-10 you can find used ones for even less and those adapter rarely die so I would trust buying a used one but only if was significantly less.

Lastly, if I do not win, I believe I have a hard drive for the bottom of the laptop.

Please show a picture of the bottom to see how much of the laptop is exposed and is it covered with tape or anything?

Good mr. Smarty pants I have been repairing computers since the apple IIgs was top of the line and even I could not tell from the photo and do you know why? Because they are the exact same size!!! Now as for you $40 dollar batteries you buy one and I will bet you $100.00 cash you will go through four of them before a dell replacement battery is even half gone. I HATE KNOW IT ALL'S. Especially after the computer owner had already answered my questions! Ty auction owner sorry everyone else that you had to hear this

The commenter is my husband, and it is my apology since I had asked him to let me know the correct response as I am not tech savvy. He too is a techy IT guy, and in my experience I find when two tech people have differing views, it is an all out holy war. It is like starting a mac vs pc war, like a perfect storm of techy rage. I Answered with the basic knowledge I posses and from information from him. I can't claim to know much of anything about computers, save for basic stats...and how to find the dark side of youtube.

Had to hide previous comment as you helped me find an issue with my auction which I will update ASAP.
1 - It runs vista, not W7, no idea why I had managed to fudge that. Has its vista code and on deck sticker.
2 - picture of HD open slot on picture 4 - it is a side not bottom.
3 - I am sorry to hear about the issues with the power cords you have heard of as I have the same power cord bought from them one year prior when mine got chewed up - and have yet to find issue with it.
Thank you for your questions actually helping me spot an error!

Thank you for the update. I have access to lots of parts for various Dell laptops and most of them have covers on the bottom for the hard drive. So I thought maybe that's what this one had.. thank you.

I would like to bid on this Laptop -- But I recently received a Hard Drive from Listia Seller

The HARD DRIVE was sent in BUBBLE WRAP envelope -- Dead On Arrival

So LISTIA will require me to pay shipping BOTH ways to get CREDITS BACK

Seller did a poor job of packing -- I wonder if it even worked before Shipping ?
Jan 4th, 2014 at 10:03:51 PM PST by
Original
well I am sorry for your bad luck with the seller.
:(
As shown in pictures, my laptop works. It does not come with the power cord but will be charged before being sent for 5 or so hours of battery life.
