Well I have a 17 yr daughter too, I'm a single mom so I didn't have much help. We didn't really put much pressure junto it and made a game out of it. We started slowly with sitting on the potty with pants on, flushing the toilet, letting her do it. Then we just gradually went further. I bought the Minnie toilet seat thing to take with us shopping etc because she was afraid of public toilets. She got over that real quick so I never used the Minnie seat.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with me. We've just started to introduce my little one to the potty. This type of potty seat makes it so a toddler can't "fall in" the toilet, right? LOL. Serious question from a first time mom, though. Thanks!!!
