To let you know about the auto winder. I am going by the photo you have of the camera. I know you can't test it. But if it only needs batteries to make it work this will make a nice camera for someone. I would bid but I just got a Minolta SRT SC-II off of Listia. Its a great mechanical camera only needs a battery for the meter. What a workhorse:)
Like curtishester710 said it looks like a auto winder on the bottom. If its a Minolta Auto Winder G. It had a motorized frame advance of two frames per second.
I would love to have it but I cant swing the shipping until the 15th of the month. Those are great cameras. I use a Minolta X730n for my outdoor shooting and get great results.
On a web site called the Rokkor files this model was released in 1982. It is called the XG-1(n). The (n) stands for new but it wasn't engraved on the camera but it was on the instruction manual. The original XG-1 came out in 1978. The 1982 model had a new body style and added a film memo holder on the back. Also this model had the updated Minolta logo at the time. Minolta written in all capital letters with the rising sun O
My father had a Minolta XG-1 this same model. It has a memo holder on the back. The earlier XG-1s did not. My father really enjoyed his. It was stolen 15 years ago he hated that.
