The listing, Coleman Cold Heat soldering tool has ended.

This is a Coleman Cold Heat soldering tool.
It was bought several years ago but was rarely used do to my having limited free time.
It still works like new, but has a broken tip that needs to be replaced. It has a small LED light to help you see what you are soldering (as you can see ON in my pictures).
When using the tool, both sides of a good tip must be applied to the surface of what you wish to solder in order for it to heat up. When you have the connection made a red light behind the power button will come on. At that point the tip will nearly instantly heat up to over 800 degrees. Once the connection is broken the tip can be touched almost instantly and there is no heat left.
That makes this a VERY family friendly soldering tool to have in a home with small children.

A new tip can be readily purchased online or in certain hardware stores relatively cheaply. Great for small projects or in areas where a corded soldering tool will not go.

**The AA batteries needed to power it will not come with it to make the shipping of it cheaper.**

do you know how much or where to get replacement tip

I did a google search and found them for about 5$ before I stopped looking. I have seen replacement tips in stores before, but I can't remember which. Sorry I can't be more specific. But they are easily found online.

Easy to use? Or easy to replace the tip? Because either way the answer is yes. And no, you're not a pain, I'm glad you're asking questions. Replacing the tip only requires that you grip the old one firmly and pull it out, no clips or screws, just pull.

Ah, it may take time, but it does serve a purpose. You can tell him that when/if you get to hand him his new tool. I can't tell you how many items I've found on here I could use. I hope you win just so you can show him it's not taking your time without reason.
