"VERRY INNTERRESTING!" RUSSIA 1917 Currency Tokens ("Money Stamps") described as: RARE, 1917, World War I, German propaganda forgeries, 15k, brown with gum on face, also 20k green, each with inscriptions altered to read: "valued on par thieving and cheating rulers." Are they the same? If not, do you know how to tell the difference? ( I just don't know these well enough. Anybody, out there willing and able to provide a reference?)
You obviously know more about them than I do. I'll bet Wild Bill knows something about them. Maybe he'll chime in before it's over. Thanks for your input. Stamps are history
This is scott 106 issued in 1915 not in 1917. It was intended to be used mostly as paper money. And since it was rarely used as postage it is 3 times mote expensiveif canceled (small phenomena). Not often forged, unlike imperforated version of the same stamp which costs way more then perforated and therefore was targeted by forgers more often. (Certified imperf version costs 100 times more) Hope this helps. Chears.
