The listing, Mysterious Lillian Vernon Drawstring Dance Bag has ended.
The Mysterious Mystery at Old Doodlebug's House!
First...this is a Lillian Vernon drawstring dance bag! That part is simple enough. However....the mystery is....WHERE did it come from, and HOW did it get into the old bat's closet? Upon questioning the old bat about it, she claimed total and absolute ignorance. I then told her that statement was no surprise, whereupon she immediately pelted me with a shoe. HehHehHeh! Oh, man....it's SO much fun pulling her chain!
Anyway, after giving this much thought, as well as a lot of head scratching....I have determined there is only one answer for the existence of this bag in her closet. Where ever it was in the first place, it sprouted wings and fluttered around in space for who knows how long. Then, one day when our front door was open, and, at the same time, her closet door was open, it fluttered its way through the front door, around the living room, down the hallway, into our bedroom, and into her closet.....where it settled in and made itself right at home amidst the piles and piles of purses, handbags, shoulder bags, clutches, make-up bags, and all the other bags in there that old women like. Now, listen....I know how far-fetched that sounds...BUT....there is simply no other explanation! So that's my story and I'm sticking to it!!!
It obviously isn't brand new. It obviously has been used. There are two very small spots on the front. Faded and barely noticeable, but they are there none the less. I assume the zippered compartment on the bottom is where you cram the dance shoes.
The bag is 14" wide across the top, 16" from top to bottom, and 5" wide across the bottom. The shoulder strap/draw string is a cloth cord. Overall it's really kinda cute, and I'm sure any little ballerina would love to have it.
I must admit it took me a while to figure out what it is. Then, by a stroke of genius, I noticed the dance shoes on the front. The lightbulb came on....and the rest is history!
