Description

The listing, Bear Paw Succulent Cuttings "2" has ended.

Auction is for 2 paws, of this precious little plant.
My adult is about 12 inches tall and has around 50 paws.
Family: Crassulaceae (krass-yoo-LAY-see-ay)
Genus: Cotyledon (kot-EE-lee-don)
Species: tomentosa (toh-men-TOH-suh) meaning covered in fine, matted hairs.
Common Name: Bear Paw
Min. Temp to: 32°F
Origin: Cape Province (South Africa)

USDA Zone: 10
Exposure: Bright Light

Here's a little write up on it:

"Cotyledon tomentosa, native to Africa, has large chunky ovate fuzzy green leaves with prominent "teeth" at tips that give the impression of bear's paws. Large orange bell-shaped flower in spring. Porous soil with adequate drainage. Bright light and ample airflow. Water thoroughly when soil is dry to the touch. Protect from frost."

Paws will send out roots then can be planted, after rooting. I have had success laying them on their edge on dry cactus potting mix, until roots appear, in a sunny east window, then planting them.

If it's not horribly cold where you are... maybe I can make you a special GIN.... but if it's -11, we'd best wait till it gets more reasonable !

I've mailed things back east with no problem..but if it's -11 back there ...I'd think you'd want to wait till it's around 30 during the day. Post office says they don't leave mail out to freeze in trucks over night or anything..and I ship with tracking, so you can know when it's coming and get it right out of the mailbox... and I wrap in bubble wrap, and ship in a bubble wrap envelope and that insulates against regular frost..but -11 ?? No I'd wait if you're having such rare weather ! PS. I have a son who lives in Berwin PA. :) brrrrrrrrr
