Description

The listing, 100+ Seeds Vitex for feeding honeybees in Summer has ended.

Vitex is a heat and drought tolerant plant that will provide pollen and nectar for honeybees all thru the Summer into Autumn. They will spread easily by seed, making an eventual grove if you care for one....Included in the pack is @100 seeds. They are from near my apiary, so I feel that they are fertile. Plant early indoors for early setout in the Spring. Large shrubs will reach 8-12 feet easily.

They are a light blue..The first pic is a stock photo of how a vitex can look with very good care. The others are mine.

The last two represent my trees. The first is a stock pic that shows what they can do when fertilized and watered very well. I chose to rely on their drought tolerance to save on my water bill. Mine are a light blue each year---very pretty without any fuss. I am in Texas, and mine grow in sandy loam soil that does not hold water very well or for very long.
Thanks for the interest.

I'm in zone 4 WI and last few weeks it's been -20 degrees, would this survive the cold up here? Thank you for your time, Donna

I am very sorry, but I doubt that it would withstand that much cold. Possibly, you could aquire some ten to twenty gallon pots, and grow them that way...I would recommend bringing them into a heated garage , or outbuilding during any coldspells under 15 degrees. They would still reach 6-8 ft. in a container that big.
Thank you for the interest. I appreciate it. Have a great Sunday.
