Because someone made a higher bid before you made your bid. As a result you were outbid.

Whenever someone is outbid, the total bid goes up to whatever the person just bid + 1%. If you become the high bidder, the bid goes up to where the previous high bidder's bid was + 1%.
If you bid the same amount of credits as the current high bid, you are still out bid. You'll notice this when you bid and the bid doesn't increase 1% from the bid you just made. Just bid a little higher and you'll be the high bidder.
If you're the high bidder when the auction ends, you win the auction.
