Flying Dragon or Trifoliate Orange Poncirus trifoliata. ~Rare~

~~Seeds from the fruit of the tree for sale ~actual pictures of the mother tree, fruit and seedlings from last year that I planted myself.
“Fruit is beginning to fall from the mother tree, and seeds will be ready to plant.”

Auction is for 5 seeds, ready to plant.

They take about 90 days to germinate in a container with damp soil, and plastic wrapped/covered. A LARGE sealing baggie works well Place near a window for sun and warmth. Don't let the soil dry out, but it can't be overly wet. The cover should look "sweaty" with moisture at all times until the plant gets two sets of leaves. Then they can be uncovered and re-potted. They like direct sunlight, and watering about once a month, depending on your zone/weather.
The trees are expensive sold individually.. The fruits are LOADED with seeds.
Introduced to the U.S. from Japan in 1915.

The contorted branches are mind boggling.
The branches and stem are thorny. Makes a great natural border for the yard.
The blossoms in the spring do have a very nice scent as most citrus. This is excellent for bonsai as it is a slow grower.
This plant does overwinter outside. It usually lose its leaves if we have a killing frost, but comes back to blossom again in the summer. Zones 6-10.

Requires full sun and a well draining soil.

The fruit can be used for flavoring and the skin can be candied.

Thanks! F&W ya' back! The fruit is bitter and strong. It's used for flavoring, mostly. You can candy the skins, but its mostly all seeds inside. They can stay in a pot and grow, and can be bonsai tree (if you know how to do it). They grow slow, and can stay in as long as you want them to! :) Thanks for looking!
