This Stuff is Free Too:
Description

The listing, Gateway 7330 Laptop, used. Electronics, Laptops, Computers, Windows XP has ended.

Auction is for my Gateway 7330 Laptop, works perfectly fine and the battery is still good, also comes with the power cord.
Stats: Gateway 7330
Intel P4 @ 3.06ghz
768mb RAM
Win XP SP3
80gb Hard Drive
Built in wifi
DVDRW drive

This was my "Pack me" laptop, took it EVERYWHERE with me, as a result it has some cosmetic damage. The case has scuffing and some scratches, and there is a crack at the bottom of the screen frame (not the screen, just the frame, screen is great) as well as the mouse area has some wear. All of it is purely cosmetic, the screen, keyboard, hardware, all else is perfectly fine and in good shape. I will be posting more pictures of it in detail later on to better show condition, no worries.

Alright, so, down to rules:
Shipping to Canada and US ONLY, no international. At current time I only accept PayPal for shipping payment. No Lowering of days nor a GIN, I have no clue as to what a good GIN would be.
Item will be shipped within 48-72 hours of shipping payment received with tracking. Item will be well packaged and cushioned.

Also let it be known, to protect myself and the high bidder: If for any reason a case is opened or there is claim of the item not working/damage, PROOF of damage -or -RETURN of the 'not working' item at your own cost is required for full refund. This is for the protection of both parties, and in accordance to Listia rules. Again, I say this because with higher value items comes higher chances of fraudulent behavior and I would rather be safe than sorry. As clearly pictured and will be featured in more pics to come, the laptop is in working condition.

ive gave away many laptops because to buy a new battery you might as well buy a new laptop

Use grammar properly before passing down ignorance. I can understand the odd typo, but honestly, understand the value of a comma and an apostrophe. But then again, if you're buying new laptops instead of replacing batteries once the original dies, you're more than likely not one who possesses 'comma' sense - aha, bad pun. ZING!
But seriously, stop flaming auctions. Any responses further will be blocked, from anyone.

yes i know the windows will be upgradeable being can install any windows on any harddrive. Tho the problem would be say there is one slot of ram ddr max 1Gb ddr2 max of 4 GB 4gb ddr2 is gana be expensive cause its a high grade ram for dd2 i kno it is way outdated for dd3. That being said if can only upgrade to 1Gb you will not be able to run windows 7 nor vista cause win 7 takes 1.5 to boot basic resources as vista takes 1.2 Gb to load basic resources then if you do not pirate windows gana cost you 60-100 $ for a legit copy of windows if do not have one obtained legally for multiple computers. XP will be functioning through 2014 possibly be disconnected sometimes later in the year or next year most odds. Me personally i would use my own preference of linux myself as i would use it for coding depending on the price of credits cause of shipping costs. I been building computers for about 10 years now and fooling around with linux for about 4 years.

after looking up the model does only support up to 1.25GB of memory T_T would be good for linux and a side computer tho for very small aplications and minor coding. :) still watching tho still has 20 days almost on it, iof i dont have to spend what i have atm was gana buy a coro coro mew tho might hold off on that for this.

Also I asked my husband (IT tech and computer restorer professional) and he has good news about the xp info- Microsoft XP is still a useable os and is still supported/upgraded, and should they discontinue it it is still a functioning os that is totally useable, just not for further updates. :) So now I have learned stuff. cool beans.

Can't do extra credits on here for free shipping unless in a GIN and no GIN on this auction. Plus 1000 credits would not be worth doing free shipping for me. Shipping costs are set, I can't afford not to charge for the cost of shipping.

I have one questions and please don't block me because i am interested in your item, but i have a problem with your shipping price...Here is the questions=How did you come up with the price of $17.50? Now i can see someone paying that if i were shipping your item from chicago to california, but, how can you charge everyone the same price?? i think that is crazy...sure if someone lives in puerto rico maybe but in illinois? would you refund any left over shipping money to the winning person? i do it all the time, after all we are giving these items away not charging people for them, right? please reply!
thank you

Shipping is only done through PayPal for secure shipping+insurance. PayPal shipping rate from Canada to even another province starts at 10.60, and get progressivly more expensive based on package size/weight/distance. This estimate comes from my experiences on here thus far with shipping and as a stay at home mom and soon to be college student I can no longer afford to brunt the shipping bill for someone else. I have no issues with refunding the difference, I'm not in it for money, I'm in it for credits for school supplies. And the reason why I don't do exact shipping is because 1. PayPal rates based on province or zip codes are hard to figure until after someone has won the auction and 2. In my experience a lot more people tend to back out when exact shipping price charged isn't what they expected. So - yeah, I have no problem with refunding the difference, but I am pretty sure even with this shipping charge I am going to end up tossing a couple dollars in the ring for charges.

Short answer? No. I have stated that if shipping cost turns out to be less than the flat rate listed I would refund the difference, but otherwise the shipping rates are set. Sorry if that doesn't work for you, but I am positive there are other auctions that would offer free shipping should you seek them out.

Finally fed up, I don't know how else to put this except bluntly if not rudely: People flaming/spamming auctions or passing on false info - get a life, or troll 4Chan. Before, I would simply block comments that were pure crap, or that were rude. Now, I am titched. Nice people have limits too.
1. My husband IS an IT and computer builder. He also does a whole bunch of programming and software fun stuff. Things that are beyond me truly - however whenever someone has a question I cannot answer, I go to him. I do know a lot of basic things though, thanks to him. SO when I get computer "know it alls" making completely crap "facts" on my auctions, it makes me face palm. Alternatively when someone who IS tech savvy comes on and offers some interesting information/insights, that is awesome. You can tell which people actually KNOW what they're talking about, it is pretty obvious, vs. those who are clearly just ignorant.
2. Let me clear this for future views: Upon asking my husband why someone would buy a whole new laptop over a powercord fritz or even a dwad battery, his response was brilliant. One does not simply buy a new car because the battery is dead, or the window cracked. Computers are the same, anyone with the basic knowledge can fix parts. Like mechanics, computer repair is a feild that not everyone is talented in. The only time you really need to junk the old and buy new, is if so many parts are broken or damaged that the cost of fixing trumps the cost of upgrading. A battery for an older model laptop will be cheaper than buying a whole new laptop. Same for a power cord (however this one works perfect so does not apply for this auction).

I am only charging the flat rate shipping cost and it goes to the highest bidder :)
The auction ends in 11 days, however my husband is a user on here, Theunoticeable501, may be able to build and sell you a laptop if that isn't soon enough. Shoot him a message. Hope that helps :) Good luck bidding.

What do you think of Vista :) OS?
Jan 13th, 2014 at 7:23:46 AM PST by

It's alright, but not the best OS out there. Personally I feel that XP was the "hayday" of OS systems. Vista, for more techy type people, has setbacks. For regular people that just need a laptop to do usual stuff, Vista suffices.

Only bad thing have to upgrade ram hardcore to run vista/win7 being that windows xp will soon be 100% unsupported and unusable soon as microsft is disscontinuing windows xp and lower.

one small question do you know your motherboard? Being this model had a few diffrent motherboards installed for same model number would make it hard to determin then memory slots for maximum compacity for ram upgrade if unsure you can download a tool called cpu-z which will give you all specs on the mother board.
Jan 9th, 2014 at 8:28:56 AM PST by
Original
True it is an older model and whoever wins can do what they wish with it. I am unsure of the motherboard, but I will attempt the program dl to best answer your question for you.
