The listing, Corkystem Passion Flower Passiflora Suberosa Seed Pods has ended.
Up for grabs is a lot of 4 fresh fruits or seed pods from my native passiflora suberosa, or corkeystem passion flower. GIN doubles to 8. This is a great plant for butterflies & fairy gardens. Fast grower. The tiny blooms are a beautiful yellow green. Fruits start green & ripen to dark purple. Fruits are viewed as edible on some sites but they taste awful and are sometimes used to make ink. May stain hands or clothing purple if busted open. Here is a great link -http://www.regionalconservation.org/beta/nfyn/plantdetail.asp?tx=Passsube
" Can be grown from seed. Smash mature fruit on paper towel or place in blender with water and grind just enough to break up the berries; strain and place on paper towel. When dry, scrape seed onto surface of soil. Do not cover. Place containter in light shade. "
" Larval host plant for gulf fritillary (Agraulis vanillae), julia (Dryas iulia) and zebra longwing (Heliconius charitonius) butterflies. "
The pics shown are my own but there are many better ones on the web. Each fruit has many seeds. I just picked these today so they are fresh (some in the 1st pic are dried). They can also be dried for later use.
Please allow up to 7 days for me to ship. Listia verified addys only. I am always looking to trade for edible plants, especially berries =)
