God question lauraleearnold....Im curious to that fact as well...but more to towards the chain being gold on the necklace and the posts on the earrings....Have a friend Im wanting find something for birthday....and shes allergic to plated...silver she can wear for very short min...but if mixed with anything...she blows up like a balloon lol. Is the chain an post gold or silver. and is it marked anything on the items ??

The chain and post are Sterling....no plating.
And it is marked 925 & 14k. I will try to get a better picture of the stamp.
