Lightly used litter locker. This item has been cleaned and sanitized. It's in excellent condition and comes with 4 bag refill cartrtridges. Excellent for anyone who has a cat. I used it when I lived in a high rise apartment so I didn't have to dispose of bags of dirty litter daily. With one cat you only need to change it about once a week and a cartridge lasts a month to six weeks - depending. Retail price of cartridges alone is $7.50 each or around $6 on e'b'a'y.

It's a litter disposal system. If you know what a diaper genie is, this works on the same principle. There is a cartridge that goes in the top. It contains a long, continuous plastic bag. You tie a know in one end and there is a place on the inside to secure the bag. Every time you scoop litter into the top it goes in the bag. You turn the big wheel on the side and it rolls the bag with the litter around an inside spool mechanism. When it's full (for me about 1 - 2 weeks for 1 cat) you cut the, tie the top, dispose of the used litter and start again. It's great for folks living in a high rise apartment because litter disposal can be a pain in the neck. Hope this explanation helps.

It's wonderful! I have 9 cats so mine fills up about every other day. But my Mom has 4 cats and I would love to have this for her. She is 83 and it's hard for her to scoop every day.

To be clear. This wouldn't solve your mom's problem because this is a litter disposal item - you use it to hold the litter you have already scooped up. I got an automatic (electric) litter box that constantly scoops the litter - it's amazing. You just have to empty the collection box occasionally.
