The listing, Authentic Navajo Nellie Begay Jojoba Necklace 70s has ended.
This necklace was one of a large batch purchased in 1975 for a jewelry business venture. It was created by the artisan Nellie Begay, a Navajo living in Window Rock, Arizona who was a friend of my late mother. One of the last half-dozen or so that I have left; it boasts coffee colored beads with genuine jojoba accents. A few sand/golden spacer beads accent the piece, which is approximately 26" in circumference if you don't include the sunburst pendant. The sunburst itself is approximately 3.75" in diameter.
The necklace was in storage from 1976 till I discovered it with the others among my mother's things in 2011, when she died at 91 (technically, still 90, but she was so looking forward to her coming birthday that she insisted she was 91. I went along. :)
I kept Nellie's creations in the box since then and have not worn it, so it looks as it did when first made.
