Description
The listing, Waltham Butternut Winter Squash has ended.
Beautiful winter squash. Known for it's sweet meat and prolific vines. Three plants per hill. Very resistant to mold, borers, squash beetles and other known squash pests. Keeps better and longer than most winter squash. 20 seeds per envelope. Planting instructions included. Chemical free production.
Depending on your hardiness zone, you should plant sometime between the first week in may to the first week in August. Remember that you don't want to plant too early due to frost and these beauties need 105 days to mature from germination. I plant mine in 'hot' horse manure, only a month old. They are heavy feeders and like the high nitrogen. If you know someone with a horse or put an ad on craigslist to get a few buckets, you would be SET! I use about a five gallon bucket per hill with three plants. Let me know if you need anything else. I can also recommend an over the counter fertilizer:)
