The althea shrub is extremely easy to care for and weather tolerant, making it an ideal addition to nearly any garden. The althea plant, perhaps more commonly known as the rose of sharon plant or by its technical name hibiscus syriacus, is a hardy flowering plant that produces flowers late in the growing season. With growth colors of both red and blue, the althea plant's blooms can grow up to 4 inches wide and its can reach an overall height over 10 feet tall.

I'm sorry to use pics from internet, as my bushes are dormant now.
This is a great plant to put by your shed to give it more beauty. Also for hiding things ( like that ole pump house. ) great for a flowering back drop in the garden. She will get white fly, so I treat mine with a little Murphy's oil soap. ( 1-capful per spray bottle of water) early in the season and that seems to keep them at bay.
