The listing, Vintage "Christmas Cookies" Solid Pewter Festive Decorations by Wallace Silversmiths has ended.
This will be a 10 day auction with no lowering of days because I only have a few of these left. and they are of very fine craftmanship, detail, hand-painted, made of solid pewter with gold-tone overlay both on the front and back, and each one is a limited edition item, which back in the 70s or 80s, each retailed for no less than $25 BACK THEN, which is a very conservative educated guess.
This "Christmas Cookies" line of Festive Decorations are Christmas-themed, with gold-toned overlay on solid pewter. They can be used as ornaments on a Christmas tree, tied to ribbon on the outside of a very special gift, hung on a safety pin and attached to clothing, or as pendants worn on thicker or heavier chains.
They are at least a couple decades old with vibrant detail and color. These have been hand-painted and the texture of the colored parts is very smooth and porcelain-like. There is a craftsman stamp on the back that reads "Wallace Silversmiths" based in Willingford, Connecticut.
The tops of all of these decorations have a shiny gold V-shaped attachment like you would see on a heavier pendant made for maybe a rope chain or thicker/solid chain. The item itself weighs approximately .7 to .9 of an ounce. I can easily tell that it is of very high quality craftsmanship, and is at least 2 decades old, possibly more. They were all given to my family as gifts from another family member that only shops at high-end stores. I do not know if this "Christmas Cookies" line are still in production today, or if not, when they may have been discontinued.
These decorations measure between approximately 1 1/2 to 2" in length and 3/4 to 1 1/4" in width.
This particular item is a cute cream colored reindeer with a red nose and bell around his neck.
On the back of these decorations stamped into the gold- tone overlay is the designer or crafter trademarked insignia of "Wallace Silversmiths."
