I just feel terrible about what the concho belt went for. It was so generous of you to share it on here. I would have gladly given over twice that, but I guess you didn't get my message on my GIN request? Or maybe you weren't able to do it because it was too late? In any case, I hope it went to someone who will treasure it for their own family, not just one of these people who do all their 'buying' on here, thinking no one knows the value of things, and then you see the things on Etsy or Ebay within a couple of weeks. It makes it tough on those of us who are dreaming of owning something that precious for our family. I only had 115,000 credits that day, but I sure wish you had gotten back with me. I hope these go so high I can't get them...for your sake! Blessings, Angela <><

I'm new to this site and have not been on long enough to do a gin yet, and i know that went low and yes people don't know what the value is on things of this nature. But i will keep trying to list and see how it goes thanks, and sorry if I didn't get back to you sooner but I work a 12 hour shift 2 on and 2 off, trying to fix this where they close on the off days.

Also, the Concho belt in question had a low pawn value of approx. 450.00 and a fair market value, to an educated collector, of approx. $1200.00 or above.

Before I became so very ill, I owned and was the senior appraiser for Yesterday's Best Appraisal Services, with an advanced certificate in Native American jewelry. So, I was actually apologizing to Sue that all I could have possibly offered for the Concho was 115,000 credits I was apologizing! Isn't it odd how little you knew or understood before you became so very upset?

Did you completely miss the part that said that I hoped the belt went to someone who would treasure it? Why would that offend you?

Well CrookedMan, I hope I have explained my comments that were directed to Sue a bit, so that you may calm down and enjoy the site.

I am virtually house-bound, and many days bed-ridden, so I spend hours every day, when I am able to focus, on doing surveys and things to earn my credits, and then I save and save for things that will either help with my therapy, such as sewing materials, or clothes for my daughter, etc. The LORD has used Listia to provide for my daughter & I in amazing ways, and I have found it to be an overwhelmingly delightful experience. I hope you will consider the facts as I have tried to explain them a bit, and will no longer count me as among 'the rich folks,' although, honestly, if the LORD should ever choose to bless me with abundant finances, I would probably be very grateful!

May the LORD grant you a gentle, peaceful spirit, CrookedMan.

Well, Ivywriter, many of us DO know the value, but simply DON'T HAVE ACCESS TO 115,000 CREDITS, or even 21,161 credits, if it comes to that! But that doesn't mean that we don't want and DREAM of being able to own something like this sometime in our lives! Those of us in THAT boat are only too overjoyed to get an occasional break where the RICH GUYS miss or overlook something of value instead of buying them all up, so OF COURSE we jump at the opportunity to acquire something nice IN OUR PRICE RANGE FOR A CHANGE. Let us not forget, that to acquire the 115,000 credits, even at the most advantageous rate of exchange will cost $287.50...an extremely large amount of money to those of us on fixed incomes, which is why we're here on Listia to begin with. If we could afford the usurious prices, we could simply go to ebay where such prices abound. But, on Listia, it's supposed to be about barter, and people giving away things they no longer need, and trading the credits gained for things they prefer. Until recently I'd never heard of a Listia auction exceeding 50,000 credits, and would have been hard pressed to figure any way to come up with that kind of credit, yet here we are with everyone tossing out numbers like 115,000, and 200,000, and even more ridiculous numbers. And sstate, it's not that I begrudge you your 'profit', it's just that it seems like the rich folks are jumping into our little pool and splashin' the rest of us right out!
Blessed be,
~Victor

You haven't offended me, I was replying to ivywriter777, who seemed to be making the statement that people who won nice items like these with less than hundreds of thousands of credits, by getting lucky and catching the auction when the rich folks aren't looking, are somehow trying to cheat the seller out of their due. As I pointed out, it couldn't be further from the truth. It's just that when we run across that VERY RARE OPPORTUNITY to actually win something nice within our admittedly limited budgets we've learned to jump on it! As I explained, very many of us are on Listia because we can't afford the usurious prices being charged at ebay and other retail outlets, being retired, disabled, or otherwise on fixed incomes. Therefore, we came to Listia, where supposedly it wasn't a matter of how much MONEY you have, but rather a simple matter of trading what we no longer need for what someone else no longer needs. UNFORTUNATELY, this no longer seems to apply. I can see no other explanation for the fact that suddenly people are putting up bids in the hundreds of thousands of credits- as I pointed out, even at the BEST rate of exchange, it costs $287.50 to acquire 115,000 credits! Prior to this Christmas, I never saw a bid as high as 50,000 credits, yet now 200,000 bids seem to be common. This is not any complaint on you or your items, but a reply to Ivywriters coments and his seeming attitude of disparagement of those who can't afford to bid hundreds of thousands of credits like he can. I'm sorry if you thought I was in any way offended by you or your listing- This is not so, rather, I have only the greatest admiration for you and your offerings, and I hope you will accept my apology for mis-speaking in such a fashion as to mislead you in that.
Blessed be,
~Victor

Hi CrookedMan,
Rich folks??? LOL!!! I know you aren't talking to or about me...ROFL!!! My daughter & I lived on $365. a month total income for 18 months, and then beginning in February it will be increased to $470., which we count as a tremendous blessing, and praise God for mightily.

It seems as though you stepped into the middle of a conversation between Sue & I that you had no background for, and went off a little rant, which brings no honor to you whatsoever.

I had explained to Sue that I had a live-in nurse steal all my families precious things, that were both Alaskan, and from a couple of other tribes, all direct family heirlooms. You, having no idea of what had been discussed, regarding how it hurt me to see things like this being picked off and then later be put up on Ebay, or even right back on here, with a HUGE mark-up, decided to comment? When that happens, which sadly it does A LOT , those things obviously didn't go to someone who had dreamed of owning them...would you agree?

But CrookedMan, since I may be among the 'rich folks' you speak of, may I offer my prayers that the LORD would provide for your family, since I can only imagine how hard it must be for you to live on less than my daughter & I do and have.

As for auctions with high bids...search 'Coach' purses once in a while! In the 14 months or so that I have been on here, I have seen them START at 50,000 credits and then ZOOM! (And no...I have never even bid on one...just giving an example).
(To be continued!)
