The listing, Hibiscus tea seeds (hibiscus sabdariffa) organically grown has ended.
Grow your own hibiscus tea and enjoy the pretty flowers on this large bush too. I grew 5 plants this year and they are gorgeous - plus I will have enough tea for myself and gifting. I like to mix the dried seed covering (the part you use for tea) with dried lemon peel and mint, yum!
You will receive 10 seeds harvested last fall, fully dried. When I planted mine I planted 6 seeds and got 5 plants. They grow about 6 feet high and about 4 feet wide and are covered with pretty pink mallow-like flowers. When the flowers finish they make a seed covered with red "petals". You pick this and peel off the red part for the tea.
The photo is one of my plants, I forgot to take one when it was blooming tho...
i am in zone 9, it took about 2 1/2 months. we did have a frost last week and it killed the plants so they are annuals. before they died they bloomed for over a month.
