Just a comment for HouseofPinUp, The recipes will all work for today's canner. I have this exact book. And have used the various recipes for the last several years with great success. Yes, there are recommendations of what is needed for home canning , cooking, the times, temperatures, and adjustments for altitude.
I agree a good book for the beginner and the experienced canner.

Some canning techniques have changed since 1973, so methods and times should be cross-checked with more modern books. The recipes would still be valid.
