I'm not sure some companies use a router and modem in one and other companies use one of each separately cox cable uses separately so it replaced their router

cox cable now has wifi an cable together in modem.....i just got one....

you can get one with wifii and cable combined or have a one of each we already had a modem so we didn't have to avoid renting one and then bought a wifi
