New, original real butterfly wing earrings, designed & handmade in California. Earrings are on a French earring wire, sterling silver. Butterfly wings are preserved in Crystal clear resin, lightweight and durable, This unique piece of jewelry is made in California from real butterflies, raised on farms in Peru dedicated to conservation. So beautiful!!! I love how these use the WHOLE wing!!!

These style earrings are made to wear reversible because of the way the butterflies camouflage themselves in nature, they look different from the other side. See photo #4 for reserve side. I will provide winner instructions on how to reverse the earrings.

WINGS MEASURE:
1 1/2" from top to bottom & 1 1/2" from side to side
(wing only, this measurement does not include the earring hooks)

No,... the average lifespan of a butterfly is about 20 days... all butterflies have lived out their life & wings are collected from those that have passed naturally :")

I actually go to a lot of jewelry shows that feature handmade items. I also do glass fusing & trade with a couple artists around the holidays. Sometimes we even get together to do Trades for Valentines, Halloween Etc.

Do you make these yourself? If so, do you raise butterflies? It's amazing how they begin as a little pin sized egg and eventually transform into a beautiful master piece. I like the idea of being able to "honor" such a creature that is so smart and beautiful.
