This beautiful Amaranth a natural red dye and is used by the Hopi people to color their cornbread. The glossy black purpley seeds are an edible "grain" and the bright tender leaves are also edible.

These sprout easily and are fun to grow. They can grow 4 to 6 feet tall in full sun and are drought tolerant. Sow seeds after last frost has passed.
