Gina, my son is a 130% disabled Marine from injuries sustained in Iraq. I would absolutely love to complete this for him! My doctor said trying to re-learn to sew would be excellent therapy for me, so it would be an awesome win-win! I am really praying to win this, but God is in control... I hope it does very well for you, even if I don't win. <><

Khardy911, and Gina, I am weeping with joy at your precious hearts. And yes, I will tell Richard 'thank you' from your family. Let's make Gina's 1st auction the best it can be, if I win, praise God, and if I don't, I hope it is you, KHardy...I think that is amazing your 11 year old sews! I ran an ad asking for any old sheets or scraps of linens to buy very cheaply, so my now 13 year old daughter could learn to sew, about 3 years ago, however we never got any replies...she would also love to crochet...but again...the cost of yarn is not in our budget. We are up to $470. a month now income, which is awesome, because for 18 months it was $365., and it was tough. But Richard's Alive Day is July 27th, and I am certain I could budget my strength & focus each day to complete this by then. This year will be his 5th anniversary since his Humvee was blown up, he had just turned 19. Praise God he is able to walk most days, the 1st call we got from his Company Commander said he would never walk again. But yet, he is home, and so many of our brave heroes are not. As a Silver Star mom, I pray for our Gold Star families constantly. Having had the terrible honor of standing by the moms at their son's memorial services was some of the hardest things I have ever done. I didn't do well at my 1st Marine memorial, because Richard was still in Iraq...somehow, though, after he was back from Germany and in the Wounded Warrior Battalion in NC, it became easier for me to comfort those moms. Thank you again...it means the world to me that our military is loved
