Hi, funny thing is I inherited it from my mother-in-law. It's only about 4 inches in height. Amber in color. I just thought it was cool. Mine is a form of cracked glass. I really don't know much about it.

Yes all the vintage glass I had displayed before we moved into a much small home about 4yrs. ago. Since we had them in storage, our children don't want them to bad! So I looking for a new home for them, put them on EBay but didn't get any offers that I wanted to except. Anyway would rather let my fellow Listians have it.

Hello crathbun33, for absolutely sure this is called Fostoria glass, aka 'cube glass'. The last is a misnomer because the proper name for it is Fostoria. The coloring in this piece is unusual for a Fostoria piece, in that it is red and amber mixed. It's also unusual because it's a basket. One doesn't normally find baskets in Fostoria glass. Who knows? It could be the bottom half of a sugar bowl by Fostoria, minus the lid because it got broken. Regardless, Fostoria pieces are highly valued because they are getting harder and harder to find-especially, this piece. Mostly Fostoria pieces are found in dinnerware, large mixing bowls and the pitcher to match the dinnerware. I was very lucky indeed one time, I found a Fostoria vase at the local thrift store! The dinnerware also includes the tall drinking glasses, juice glasses and milk glasses-the kind you would drink milk from back in those days. Good luck with your auction and have fun with it.

Ps. I'd about give my right arm to have this piece. I LOVE Fostoria glass! =D
