Hi! I am starting my first garden this year. I've only grown a few things on my porch before now, last year started everything by seed( luck not planning)! This year my mother is giving me space to garden at her house. It's important to me to do everything organically, non GMO. They have left it up to me to plan and I have no idea what I'm doing! Lol! If you would really be willing to answer questions it would be wonderful! I've already met some wonderfully helpful gardeners on here! I guess my first problem is planning layout. Like what can go next to each other, cross pollination, etc. Almost all the seeds I got are heirloom and I want to be able to collect the seeds for future use. Sorry about the book on your auction! Lol! Thanks! :)

This is an Armenian cucumber. All you need are a couple of seeds per hill, space the hills 3 to 4 feet apart. Provide a tall trellis. They love the heat. They are just taking off when the regular cucumbers start getting bitter. These cucumbers are actually related closer to a mellon than a cucumber. But you use them as you would a cucumber. They taste really good. Pick when they are 12 to 15 " otherwise the seed area gets spongee. Give them plenty of water and they will produce from late spring thru the summer up until the first frost.

Last year I had some growing and from only a couple of vines in one hill, I had more that I could eat. My trellis was 8ft tall x 4ft wide and the vines reached the top and were very thick at the bottom.
