The listing, 3 Super Healthy Dog Food Recipes (healthy, more tips) has ended.

There are a load of bad dog food brands out there, my Listian friends. I want to warn you, this is not trying to criticize anyone who buys these brands, just to inform.

First, Purina. Commercial brand, cheap, "healthy", a lot of people buy it. Look at the ingredients list. "meat by-product" is disgusting to me. Bits of bone, skin, hair, hooves, tendons, ligaments, organs, ucckkk gross!!! All that grinded together. They still taste great to the dog! Purina also had treats that had illegal drug residues in them. Don't buy...

Go ahead and comment all of your issues you've had with your dogs or friends dogs after eating commercial dog food. A friend's dog died from kidney disease after only 4 years of Beneful by Purina.

Even premium is somewhat bad. I used to love Blue Buffalo, and still do. It's almost as natural as you can get around here. It's horribly pricey though. It's still got the bad stuff though.

These are 3 recipes I will give you. I also include some other tips, like things to use as treats. Very simple. I also try to help you save money on things like food.

I can also help with a few other issues, like potty training or simply training.

I don't suggest it.. I think you should switch over to Costco's Kirkland Signature dog food... It's not the healthiest but its not pricey either. It's better than most. Pedigree has a lot of bad stuff in it. Including corn meal and salt. Dogs? SALT? No. Dogs aren't supposed to eat salt. They actually don't favor the taste like humans do.

You can boil some vegetables like carrots and chop it up and add it to their meal. Dogs are omnivores. They need vegetables.

Just a warning: Never feed them raw meats.

Here's the ingredients list for pedigree's dog food:

ground yellow corn, meat and bone meal, animal fat (preserved with bha/bht), wheat mill run, natural poultry flavour, corn gluten meal, wheat flour, potassium chloride, salt, rice, vegetable oil (source of omega 6 fatty acids*), chicory extract (source of inulin), chicken by product meal.... etc. (taken from pedigree website)

What's in Blue Buffalo that's bad? Thanks for your time. :-)

Well, most of its good. I love it, but I got scared a bit after the recall in 2010 I had heard of. It contains tomato pomace, nothing life threatening, but its used as a filler. Also, the first ingredient is most likely chicken. Say they've got 80% of the ingredients that is chicken. Once that moist, juicy chicken is dehydrated, you end up with about an eighth or so of the original size... they go with the original 80% and put in more fillers.. That's what I've HEARD. I myself never had issues with it, but a friend of mine (who is now many miles away from me) said her dogs started to have loose stool and gas after she started them on it. It is quite expensive, but its pretty good food. Thank you for reading through :)

Another thing that annoys me and leaves me wondering is the thing with "smoked/cured" bacon Blue Buffalo includes on their "Wholesome Ingredients" list. They really don't need salt.
