The S's mean Sunday School. The Southern Baptists used to do this when I was a little girl. It means that somebody went to Sunday School every Sunday for a whole year without missing even one Sunday, for being sick or for anything!!! They were very uptight about that rule, too. If you missed even ONE Sunday, you did NOT get the pin.
