Description

The listing, **VECTOR Stormtracker Elite WC300DSV** has ended.

MINT!!!! The Vector Stormtracker Elite is a weather alert radio with a built-in 5" TV, alarm clock, cellphone charger, lantern, and flashlight. It can be powered with AC or DC cords, batteries, or a hand-crank dynamo. The Vector WC300DSV is a useful product for boaters, campers, and residents of areas affected by severe weather.

I got this at an estate sale with intent to visit a friend in Oklahoma and seek out tornadoes...I've never seen one...but my friend got transferred to WV. So I'm offering it to anyone that consistently experiences extreme weather emergencies.

FEATURES:

RADIO RECEIVER: The Stormtracker Elite’s digital weather radio tunes all seven NOAA/NWS VHF channels, alongside the regular AM and FM bands..

WEATHER ALERT: The Vector Stormtracker Elite can be set to sound an alarm when an official weather or other emergency alert is issued.

TELEVISION: The unit’s B&W UHF/VHF analog television can receive broadcasts from Canada, U.S. LPTV stations, and cable/satellite services. It has a clear, sharp picture and good audio quality.

ALARM CLOCK: The Vector WC300DSV has a digital clock and alarm with “Snooze” button.

ACCESSORIES: The Vector Stormtracker Elite comes with a DC car power cord (also works in some boats and RVs), AC adapter, and adjustable carrying strap. Its well-written instructions thoroughly cover almost every aspect of the unit.

PARTS: There is a replaceable two amp fuse on the back of the unit. The 12V DC car/boat adapter also has a separate fuse. The 1/8" antenna jack accepts various adapters for connection with standard TV/radio antennas, digital converters, VCRs, and other RF devices.

POWER: The Vector Stormtracker Elite’s TV can only be powered using the AC/DC adapter or 9 “C” batteries, while the other functions may also be powered with the dynamo crank.

LIGHTS: The WC300DSV also has a flashlight on the front and a lantern on the back.

Like I mentioned, Florida is know for its Hurricanes and tornado's, but also water spouts. Try being out 32 miles offshore and looking over to see a big a** water spout less than a 1/2 mile away. Kinda takes the fun out of fishing. The worst was in 2004, we had back to back Hurricanes all summer. I live about 6 miles from Kennedy Space Center, where they launch the Shuttles. This one Hurricane, cant remember if it was Francis or Jeanne, but we were literally "hunkered down" for over a week. Living on a Barrier Island in Florida isn't all peaches. Especially when its 98 degrees outside, 110 degrees inside, and the wind is whipping at over 90 MPH making opening windows a poor choice. Not sure what all that has to do with this auction other than my bid is in, lol!

I don't what to say to that! WOW, and I thought our storms were bad. The good must outweigh the bad though if communities continue to remain there, huh? Well, the battle is about over so I'm going to go check out the last few minutes of the auction and I'll chat with you later. Thanks for bidding.

I love Tornados. I used to put my kids in a closet with the radio, food, flashlight, water and I would go sit on the porch and watch the storm. The day one went down a block away parallel to my house is the day I stopped that. Now I live in Houston and have to deal with hurricanes instead.

You might change your mind if you see a real one pick you up, thank the lord for the tree I was holding on to didn't break, but it is real scary when your holding on to something and your legs are floating in the air off the ground! LOL. :)

I am watching this one. We love storm chasing, last year we didn't have to go far, most came to us. lol my goal this year is to get some great photos of actual tornado. Profile pic is the closest I've gotten, my Lil old town of 500 would have been wiped out if it dropped a tornado. I'm Fanning you and welcome to Listia.

See email. And yes, you worry too much. Sometimes items you list, that you HOPE will bring in a lot of credits dont, and other times its just the opposite. I find the same with new people, my main **tch is when they join and list brand new ipods of really high end items. I usually just flag them. See, there I go again, just rambling on.

I'm going to chill from now on. Real auctions are not like this at all. I think that's my problem...the comparison. These are like long silent auctions.

Of course not! LOL!! We talk alot and I just wanted to spare people having to read through all our long replies. I didn't know how to hide my own replies or I would have. I worry too much, huh?

Look at the last one, for the Sirius radio. It stayed low for the whole auction, then right before the end kicked up to 27000. You know better than to give up. Mama didnt raise no quitters! You'll see.

Well I noticed that many of the bidders that I've been getting are those people that join, get free credits and try to get something for nothing. That bugs me.

I really don't understand this auctioning. With some items, people bid throughout the entirety and with others they watch for days...?????????? Is there some Goddess of Listia that determines how things play out? Anyway, good luck!

Bryan, what I learned early on is to never, ever give up on an auction. Most people do not bid until the last 10 hours or so, and it's not uncommon for an auction to triple or more the last hour. If you look at my last auction, it went from 18000 to above 40000 in the last hour. Don't ever give up unless you have absolutely no one watching.

You might want to think about having Listia cancel the auction and hang onto that thing. Sounds like you need it. Feel better!

According to the news year to year, I thought that there would certainly be more people across the country that could make much greater use of the Vector than me. I rarely experience long power outages or frightening storms. I bought this only to go tornado chasing which I won't be doing now. Looking at the current bid, I would say this auction is pathetic. I didn't know we could cancel an auction once someone bid. With free shipping, I'm almost paying someone to take it...and that's ridiculous. If nothing changes by tomorrow, perhaps I will. It appears that people are literally just "watching". People don't want to tie up their credits. That means they don't want it bad enough...understandable. I'm still new but I'll figure this all out soon enough. Thanks for your support.

Im so sorry you are feeling under the weather. Have you ever tried Alka seltzer Plus. The stuff works great, that and theraflu. Well, feel better and touch base when you're feeling up to it.

Feel better at the moment...just tired from little sleep. Thank you for the OTC suggestions...maybe I should try A.S. Plus. Nyquil was already in the cabinet. Woke up last night to one of the worst storms we've had in years. Tornadoes spotted in surrounding areas and the power flickered off and on several times. I immediately thought about the Vector if the power went out. Then, I thought I can't use something I have up for auction...too weird...funny, but not funny. Anyway, I'm going to lay down for awhile. Again, thank you.

Today, my nephew who is 6 going on 26 is coming over. So we'll ready the ultralights, and get a couple dozen shrimp. Fish off the back yard dock for awhile(as long as we can keep his attention) and scout for some trout, snook, redfish, or heck, he'd even be happy with a pinfish.lol. The weather has been just beautiful. This is why I live in coastal Florida. Anyway, plan on draggin out the Sirius to the dock and testing your theory of the blues. If it doesn't work catching fish, do I get some kind of credit reimbursement?
LOL. Dont you have any fishing stuff to auction off?
Feb 27th, 2011 at 3:26:57 AM PST by
Original
Hey there, is the Sirius unit okay? I have no problem with credit reimbursement. I love satellite radio...I'm saving up money for a stiletto model so I can use in house or car easier. But I'm hoping one shows up on listia...not likely though. And you honestly cannot test the blues theory with your nephew because fish are always "lured" in by the pure innocence of a playful child...LOL! I don't get out of the city much so I haven't been fishing in years since niece and nephew are all grown up. My brother has a lake in the country but I don't think he even has any gear/tackle left. Do you use live bait or lures (ie. spinners, topwater)? Is there much fishing giddup on Listia? I'll have to look. Enjoy your day with the family...and hell, just swallow your pride and ask your nephew how to catch a keeper...LOL!!!

Congratulations! I would say, "What else does a person need after that?", but I already know the answer...and they're probably under your boat right now having a meeting about a rumor regarding crisp, clear blues music that induces a feeling of drunken hunger...LOL!!!

I reside in southern California and scientists keep telling us here that "we're due for a big one". I keep a lot of supplies handing just in case. I'd rather be safe than sorry. My friends joke about my plastic garbage cans full of foods and such. I still haven't told them about my solar kit that I had purchased to hook up to small appliances. I'm sure they'd think I was truly aloof.

I was in Los Angeles during the last big earthquake and it wasn't funny at all. It was complete misery. I can't imagine what folks go through more often who reside in tornado, bizzard or hurricane zones.

Thank you for offering free shipping. You have the true spirit of listia. Cheers.

I've experienced a 5.7 earthquake in L.A., and that was a bit scary for the first time. I understand your preparations completely. Good luck if you decide to bid!!!

It's a nice piece of emergency gadgetry. However, since I never got to go get caught up in a tornado, I've only tinkered with it a bit without having looked at the manual. It is a bit more complicated than you would think when preparing it for your area. And most people will probably need an accessory antenna (port on the back) for better reception. Radio and lights are no problem; weather requires some programming and reading instructions; TV is where the extra antenna may come in handy...I was only able to get one clear channel...which is really all you need. But again, I never toiled through the instructions. I think one of the most impressive features is the four different power sources you have...AC adapter, car adapter. batteries, and the dynamo crank on the side. This unit would be great for anyone willing to take the time and effort preparing it. Thanks for watching!!
