The listing, Conspiracy ? BOOK Black Box KAL 007 Korean Air Lines 10 News Clippings SHOOTDOWN has ended.
Intrigued by spy stories?
Up for bid is a 1985 printing (soft cover) of "Black Box KAL 007 and the Superpower", by Alexander Dallin. Included are 10 different newspaper accounts of the incident.
The book is an analysis of the doomed 1983 flight that had 62 US passengers on board.
This was an estate find, so I'm not sure why the former owner had all the clippings and articles (student perhaps working on a paper?), or just someone interested in this stuff? Clippings are in good condition, but some toning from age.
From the Wikipedia: "Korean Air Lines Flight 007 (also known as KAL 007) was a scheduled Korean Air Lines airliner that was shot down by a Soviet interceptor Su-15 near Moneron Island, west of Sakhalin Island, in the Sea of Japan on Thursday, September 1, 1983.
The interceptor's pilot was Major Gennadi Osipovich. All 269 passengers and crew aboard were killed, including Lawrence McDonald, a sitting member of the United States Congress." To read the whole article, please visit their site. Quite interesting!
Book is in good used condition. There are penned brackets around several paragraphs throughout the book, but it is very clean inside.
If this is your area of interest, this seems a good source of information!
