This is a lovely box in the style Of Carl Faberge's fabulous Russian Eggs ! It is vintage , in good condition, with a little wear to the purple felt on the bottom, and you can see there once was a label but I don't know what it said. I don't know the maker , but it's a good sized , solid piece and would make a great ring , or earring box for smaller sized jewelry . (Or an amazing ring box to surprise a girl with a fabulous ring! Lol!!) . It would also be a great Easter gift for anyone you love.(Easter follows Valentines Day, it would work for that also! ) or just a great gift for the egg collector in your life! I had a fairly good sized egg collection , which I'll post gradually , here, before Easter but I am posting this one first for those of you rabbits who want to get a "jump" (Bad jk!!) on it!It appears to be made from an early form of resin. Someone said they thought it was Avon(but I looked at Avon things I I can't find any like this! The inside rim is made of metal , gold plated brass I think , with a little latch. , the inside it lined with purple felt or flocked fabric.(Looks like felt to me).I've had it for yrs. in a cabinet for decoration. at least 13 I'd say. I have no idea of the value, I'd be guessing if I did say.It is about the size of an ostrich egg which was commonly used in Russian eggs. It certainly looks much older than it probably is.
