The listing, RARE 2 VARIETIES beans AUCTION! Cherokee Trail of tears & Butterscotch has ended.
5 beans each of Cherokee Tail of Tears and Butterscotch
Cherokee Trail of Tears-Because of the scarcity of these beans, the US ARK of Taste has collected this delicious food to protect from the danger of extinction. Probably the best bean ever! In 1838 thousands of Cherokee were forced down the famous death march known as the Trail of Tears. This bean is one of their heirlooms they managed to keep and passed on from generation to generation. These seeds are used with pride in many traditional American Indian dishes. Delicious and rich flavor! BUTTERSCOTCH-Dates back to 1860 New England. Used for Boston Baked Beans!
Questions & Comments
These are good beans, I purchase them at my local store all the time, I am Cherokee, so I know all about them.
Hi Sassy! Yes, they are very good. The history on the Trail of Tears is sad and heartbreaking but I will say that through this alone, Cherokee gained much strength of soul and spirit....as refined in a fire and made pure as gold.
Great auction!! My husband is a big bean lover and I am always trying to find different varities. We are planning our garden for this year so this would be great! I'll be watching.
