The sun charges the solar panel which charges the battery which powers the bulb in each globe.

so being these are solar how do they charge by the sun -- is there a solar panel anywhere -- i mean if they r solar they got to be chatged somehow by the sun -- more info needed -- smiles

to be solar is to charge by the sun -- takes a solar panel of somekind to charge a battery right -- just need a little more info

I have never opened these but when I peered in the bottom of package I can see a black cord and what seems to be a solar panel. Maybe the panel is not on each individual globe but one larger panel that feeds the cord to power each globe? I really don't know for sure.
